Of course homeland security needs PATRIOT for real ACTIVITIES which, like any organized crimes, betoken anarchistic or enemy foreign agent style endeavors; but the object isn't just to make EVERYTHING anybody at all can be doing/saying, supporting/protesting, or remaining silent upon a "sign" of "interest"...IS it?

Wherefore, it seems logical to re-authorize USA PATRIOT, perhaps for ten years at a pace, like all other laws, so that in the nature of RICO, FISA, and similar laws, America (and perhaps the world) are safer from bona fide terrorist and enemy agent types operating outside even RICO type statutes to a much more deadly end; at the same time, the Kennedy-inspired STANDARDS Act should be built into ANY re-authorization of USA PATRIOT, to ensure that its mission doesn't creep into just about everything even normal people of earth do.

You know, the author of within blog, “Republiservative”, doesn’t walk around with his life accomplishments, emoluments, 30+ ACT score, prior elected partisan committeemanships, and such hung around his neck, or even (usually) dressed to the nines including Florsheim Royal or regular Imperials; no, except for the fact he combs his hair and shaves daily, Republiservative otherwise is like an at-large version of the old Peter Falk character “Columbo”…and he interacts in the same non-biased, non-pretentious ways with the world, because he reveres the law and LIKES people, be they artists or first professionals or his critics or anything else except sociopaths.

Today, your within author was out for his weekend morning walk around downtown Salem, Oregon, and at about 8:30 AM noticed all these “No Parking: Tea Party Express March And Capitol Steps Event 11:30AM-12:30 PM” around various Capitol-area streets; I decided not to participate but observe this “Tea Party Express” in action, and en route back to it just after starting time noticed the Marion County Democrats had street signs at their downtown office saying “meeting this morning”…they’re the ones who can pull dozens to non-stop local events while insisting ALL Oregon thinks Obama is way better than Bush (as if any of Oregon’s manifest majority population ever voted for Bush)…I didn’t see anybody walk into or out of this morning’s meeting.

While I didn’t fan out into the crowds with full surveillance tech or even as little as one acquaintance, here’s what I observed: the attendees grew to a crowd by end that appeared numbering no more than in the low to mid-100’s; most attendees appeared to come in groups from more sparsely populated areas of Oregon; every man, woman, and child I could observe was Caucasian; placards where visible had slogans like “Less Illegal Invaders Equals More Jobs”, and other situational extremely remote economic misunderstandings; most placard wavers were young to senior farming community members; a number expressed that this was their first foray to a “big city” in years; and about a half-dozen males all under age thirty by looks milled along perimeters yelling a two-word pro-Caucasian phrase. Of course, most attendees either had nothing to say or express, or brought USA flags to wave as if perhaps thinking they’re just frazzled generally re the economy…most certainly seemed uninterested in the six punks chanting racist slogans. Other than that, it was sunny and about 80 degrees Fahrenheit with no real wind.

The event speakers were all of Oregon GOP origin, and that seemed to be the point: raise future campaign workers by identifying with attendees upset with things, via just blaming Obama and Democrats for poor stewardship causing all attendees’ woes “whatever they may be”, and via tolerating ANY placard or slogan chant or silence without asking anyone to leave.

The entirety of GOP speaking could be summed up in the statement of the Marion GOP Womens’ leader (I swear, with stops and breaths, no applause or other audience interruptions, it took 5 minutes to say this): “ I…am…the head…of the Marion GOP Women….We wear red blazers……Of course………men are allowed to join….us…….but as associates only……..I urge you to support…..our party November 5th....stop by the Marion booth before you leave”. Other speakers simply urged attendees to contact “COMMON SENSE” and similar PACs, and of course any GOP candidates, for future change they can believe in. Thus was the glory of this robust backlash of the Rising Tide of Republicanism throughout the USA and Oregon…about as “robust” as the dozens of folks Marion Democrats say are but a mere sampling of Obamamania.   

I noted further that Oregon has a much more ethnically diverse population, and aggregate State population infinitely eclipsing the Tea Party and Marion Democrats combined; once again, this inter-racial, international behemoth of Independents was unavailable for attending OR protesting ANY partisan political event. Independents…the kind who see that no job for a national is no job for any immigrant and vice versa; that national or immigrant, it’s the same economic system; and so forth through the social and trade gamut.

Wherefore, I can only assess from my experience that this “Tea Party Express” is pure rodomontade of paycheck-seeking partisans having no more intention of changing status quos in the future than they did themselves under Bush and now Obama…such partisans won’t even commit to what THEY think is wrong and specifically WHAT they would immediately do if elected. These Tea Party things then are just to find folks upset with “ins” on pedestrian hope the “outs” THIS time would care.

The Tea Party Express appearing a load of political baloney topped with red herring, perhaps the majority of Oregon’s population was too busy trying to figure out: why a stock market made up only of Google, pharmaceutical companies, and cell phone makers is “up” on news now “only” two million per month seem to be losing jobs and foreclosures soar; how new paving jobs around Salem (starting as the Legislature sets to convene) will “put Oregon back to work” as road signs claim, since no workplaces/jobs is no workplaces/jobs pretty road or ugly road; and why today’s Saturday “Oregonian” headline is that Oregon food stamp use has increased 31% the last year to a record high, with the State predicting it will go higher still in 2009 (http://www.oregonlive.com/politics/index.ssf/2009/09/record_number_of_oregonians_go.html ). Then there’s DHS calling the unemployed “alienated of interest through 2019”, USA paying Pakistan billions no-strings while coddling Taliban, a USA commission placing India on a “religious rights watch list” for not bowing to Taliban law, and all that creepy stuff from this Spring.

Anybody over at Tea Party land or Marion cheerleading ready to say we should bail on status quo, and if so, what we’ll immediately do in its place? And if only handfuls of folks with friends named “Skeeter” opposing handfuls of slackers passes as “zesty and issue-complete” GOP-DEM electoral combat, why should anyone believe no-trail voting would show folks only vote for GOP or DEM as representative of what voters on the whole worry about?

When I got to Oregon three months ago, each town…metro to rural…seemed in a static condition, with many people unemployed, appearing to have constant free time to drive, eat fast food/shop for food, and little else (besides garage sales, et al); sure, Statewide, some were “the homeless”, but most free-timers had houses…just no jobs/credit, perhaps foreclosure looming, vehicles obtained on prior super-easy terms (payments backing up), and a growing reliance on food stamps/UI extensions/HHS aid; most then seemed certain that with Obama and Democrats passing out money to banks, States, and Towns, every layer of Oregon government would swiftly move to provide ability-to-pay healthcare, incentives to bring/build commerce, job training, jobs, and safety nets for the dispossessed or near foreclosure. Nationals and immigrants alike shared such hopes.

 

 

It appears that Oregon govt units respond that this is swiftly being done, in fact no “real” people now worried about more than global warming and passing Obamacare…just stop by the Salem library this Tuesday and see Marion Democrats say so. Federal “need” for healthcare is the only “oops” on Oregon can-do progress. Albany OR points to new, non-stop additions to New Urban housing development on grounds it will attract money residents sure to draw commerce THIS time. Salem OR, all just this month, found its Sheriff has “extramarital affairs and has been lying about too little jail space and eviction crews”; amid his imbroglio, Salem police have sprung forth with bicycles/motorbikes/extra cars to address “homeless and loiterers”…getting rid of deadbeats said a step to drawing commerce (see Rich Daley, Chicago, 1999, as in tune “plant, plant a pretty flower, toss a bum with all your power” in re ‘Do The Richie’the parody of Daley’s ‘Do The Milly’ in re then looming year 2000).

 

Also, Salem has announced that as of 09-08-09, except for the transit center, no more bus stops at all in the entire downtown/capitol campus grid (12^th to Willamette river, Marion over to Trade) and posted signs at each current stop say so; other service will flourish at traditional AM/PM rush hrs and not much between or after…hey, with all “bums” gone, who besides job holders (who won’t work downtown) NEEDS service? Sure, Chemeketa and lofty Wilamette University are in the downtown grid, but they carpool and like walking, and private buses take care of pre-college kids.

 

More! All around Salem are billboards having a smle “Chase” logo and saying “New to Oregon, but not to banking”. See, if Chase et al finance New Urban developers in those areas along “rush-only” bus routes, on top of sweeping uot all “losers”, even more housing starts THIS time will pull workers who need bus service.

 

As icing, the State and Salem enacted or propose tax hikes on businesses, and with commuter and New Urban progress amid taxes, who with jobs or trade to ffer won’t want “in” on a game where progress APPEARS going on with such profits even taxes…and high office-holder salaries…leave plenty of net? They tell us only a racist or some such cootie name would oppose “sharing” this “wealth” via Obamacare for the masses.

 

To reiterate, the economic planning by Oregon officials having control of no-strings Federal funds is: sweep out hangers-on, build even more housing, raise taxes and officials’ pay, be a good American and support your politicians’ solutions, and for this admixyure simple, jobs and such might begin to aggregate on their own THIS time, for sure.

 

In plain English, Salem and Oregon are just re-making those “anecdotal pockets” so that they’re like the majority of USA/global towns already so situated, been there/done that, or both…feel lucky sassing back?

 

Just chiming in , and hoping my report will be verified, in case places like Oregon and their bipartisan if mostly Democrat apparatus say they’ve delivered the job creation, training, and so on in a way Oregonians in large numbers thought they’d receive under Obama, so all most want is to canonize Obama, Reid, Durbin, Al Gore, and Pelosi.  

Assuming ‘Time’ Magazine this week isn’t acting in the nature of reviving slacking retail sales, it has a perhaps even unintentional yet present message in support of Obama’s claim the need for constant healthcare is far deeper than anyone imagines.

Conservatives, here we can even suspend the omnipresent memory that from Stalin forward, Soviet Gulags were filled with scientists, journalists, medical personnel, professors, and everyday folks themselves “diagnosed” as “mentally ill” and in some State-run “sanitariums” (or lobotomized/drugged) for the health of themselves and the Soviet Union. 

This week, the ‘Time’ cover story tags to its main piece…an essay representing that no matter WHAT you eat and in any even small quantity thereof, exercise does not make anyone lose weight; it represents further implication that what you eat is all that matters, so if you’re over-weight and follow ‘Time’ obiter dictum on foods, gosh, you must have a MEDICAL CONDITION that no exercise could help...why, then, you could also be at higher risk for flu, since you're likely sedentary or in close quarters, especially if you're an alienated unemployed; why, if you caught flu, you could help spread it even among healthy types.

Well, if that implication were made or just hangs there as it does, would some rush to say come to think of it, no one has ever then choked down emotions with comfort foods? Was Alka-Seltzer wrong for years in re those “I can’t believe I ate the WHOLE thing” ads? Is it then mere coincidence so many Spandex-clad constant runners and cyclists, nibbling light or not-so-light, and having no known connection to dietary medical supervision, almost can’t be seen if they turn sideways? Schwarzenegger didn’t “flabalanche” through three “Terminator” movies et al and could have wolfed down pie after pie, pack of hot dogs after pack of hot dogs, tons of hot wings and pork rinds, and washed it down daily with ten kegs of beer while always lounging in a hammock 24/7, as because he’s “Ahnold” he gains no weight despite no constant dietary medical personnel present and without any exercise?

If that’s anybody’s picture, it tacitly infers Dr. Frist wrote a righteous 2003 Medicare re-do ahead of any concern for jobs/commerce, and this upon likes of good Dr. Howard Dean saying “amen” to a scenario where the first to get reliable government help will be all the over-weight men, women, and children of as many races and lands as possible…and heck, with Baxter assuring the 18 nations using live flu marked “vaccine” earlier this year was just a Baxter snafu and not a “practice run”, who’d care about work or question why Obama earlier this year signed an executive order barring doctors from using their consciences at all? Come on, Obama just wants all the over-weight to get government-directed care…and never you mind why all the Spandex cyclists and runners, who never usually even speak with anyone who’s not so constantly absorbed, spend the other halves of their days in government, police, fire, educational, medical/veterinary, and other bail-out type paycheck earning pursuits.

I saw a few PSAs from assorted mainstream USA groups today, apprising me that Good Morning America portrayed all opposition to Obama's healthcare (really, just more of what Bush started in 2003 with Medicare as jobs and commerce slid) as racism.

Hmmm. Well, neither I nor any other "white folks" I talk with seem at all interested in holding race or any other incidental trait against ANYONE on ANYTHING; we don't seem to be saying "folks abroad, your governments treat you like cattle, but don't come to America where you can be truly free and have boundless $$$$, well-built houses that can withstand anything and political opportunities for you and your children...because of your skin color or national origin".

No, indeed. What we DO seem to be constantly articulating is constant questioning of why, whether under Bush or Obama, the NEED for absolute, total government control of everything in evryone's life is "necessary"....yes, "people need help!", but what if anything, WHEN, are we going to do about transcending the causes of NEED for a society mirroring the Soviet and other failed social structures? My kind of person WANTS all reasonable people on earth to get along, and further with their own achievements and diversity...and true freedoms and abilities to be the best candles for the world they can possibly be...even when they come here or some of us go there.

But speaking of "racist to dare question Obama", if we sieg heil to GMA, then indeed it is racist against Latinos already in America to question why THEY are included in the "you knew what you were doing!" non-bailout of personal mortgages; back in Lake County Illinois alone, this year I spoke with hundreds of Latino families as out in the cold on their foreclosures as any "good ol' boys" (so-called by GMA types) in the South or Wyoming.

To reiterate, it's not racist to ask anyone WHY we keep "needing" mass government healthcare under Obama executive order to not use conscience in adminsitering anything to anyone, keep "needing" HUD to not bail out people but own evermore housing on easy toss-out terms, and keep "needing" to just stop wanting to be anything and at least have a roof over our native or hereto immigrant heads on whatever subsistences government will give us.

The other day, I posted a piece at within blog, where I mentioned that back in the day of their office-holding in Illinois, no one was a racist or liberal guilt-appeaser (or other “social cooties” victim) just because they discussed or approved ideas emanating from African-Americans Roland Burris (as Illinois Attorney General/Comptroller) or Harold Washington (Chicago Congressman/Mayor); this, despite the then presence of Trent Lott and his “cooties” in both the House and then Senate, David Dukes, and so on…officials, media, and most people just didn’t link official acts of government, no matter WHO ran them, to be more than abstract ideas for democratic debate and input re effectuations, without tether to anything else or the luxury of giving into terroristic/Mafiosi-style “cootie callings” and violence against any race or person where some didn’t like majority rule, and neither could someone whip up that unless you DO what someone they like/put in of this or that color, no matter what it means, you WILL be ipso facto equated with a racist, terrorist, ad infinitum.

Today, the likes of PFAW are emailing PSAs representing that a Congressman of non-white demographic at least appears to have had an office sign defaced with a swastika and “the N-word” used against him; well, that certainly leaves open any pro-Obamacare sympathetic person of any demographic trying to build “aw shucks, let’s just do what he wants or folks will think we’ve got cooties” public opinion; and it leaves open that someone strongly opposed themselves did or contracted the defacement, to make the public think bad things will happen to ANYBODY who supports Obamacare or whatever.

Both alternatives are horribly WRONG in what they seek. It is traditional terrorist activity to attempt to inculcate public opinion for or against matters of public policy via threats or use of violence; the public should not be made to feel they HAVE to react one way or the other to the alleged incident of defacement or be called “accessories” to the act in any way(s); the Congressman and staff should not have to think they have to stop being for or against anything just because of some terrorist; and in fact the public at-large…high, low, and in between… should not have to fear that such things should generally happen at all.

Wherefore, I would respectfully submit all relevant law enforcement investigate the matter, and prosecute any appropriate party(ies) for the primary offense of attempting public opinion manipulation via threat and force, concurrently with the offenses of racial hatred, trespass, and criminal damage of property.

As to Obamacare, I would offer that whereas the President appears moved to unbelief any peaceable, sane person could even have questions about it, I most respectfully submit that in media and in official floor activities of Congress, not much if anything has been said of the economic, trade, credit, and job loss conditions which keep impelling people to “need” mass government healthcare, subsistence funds, food stamps, and exclusively HUD-controlled housing…so it is people can perceive honestly if erroneously(?) that mass healthcare means commitment to a new kind of regulated culture.

But recently, here in Oregon, radio stations under FCC licensure have started airing ads with a man saying that sure, the economy’s bad, lots of wind disasters and such to ever-sprawling New Urban housing, lots of jobs lost, but did we know some people disadvantaged by those things actually get depressed, and that all they need do is visit the advertising mental health party, get a therapy that stops depression, and just like that, an improved attitude will lift them out of their difficulties?

I continue to puzzle over how, ala the April 2009 DHS reports, the DHS NICC coordinates things across the public and private sectors, for their stated purpose of influencing public opinions on this and that (http://www.fas.org/irp/eprint/rightwing.pdf , Page One, Topic “Scope”, sentence three thereof).

See, before Clinton’s second term, it just wasn’t done to say that if you dare question someone, or if you’re parallel to a loon, you are an “-ist” indulging your “-ism” based on whatever psychologist du jour is making a limelight name for themselves; better, whole or large parts of populations weren’t compared to “-ists” and “-isms” just because they weren’t satisfied with some issue(s) results common to most people of every kind, or were in the same faith or IND/GOP/DEM party or economic situation as a loon.

So why is it, exactly, everybody must STILL watch the “P.C.” when assessing in normal, traditional ways the progress or lack thereof of elected officials? 

At several mainstream public email homepages of USA origin this morning, inter alia, blurbs appeared representing that a recent killing of a gay in Israel was “due to Orthodox Judaism”...dadgummit, just one day after the same buzz factory whooped that when a Qaedan honcho doesn't like Obama, who then dare criticize the Prez.

Just as we “know” all Catholic Priests are child molesters, all Lutheran ministers are BTK killers, all Hindus Godse or idol worshippers wanting to boil us all for pudding, all Buddhists radicals, all Muslims Ladenists, all Christians crusaders and shooters and abortion clinic bombers, by “virtue” of the same doctrine of parallel inferences, some would have us believe that now Orthodox Judaism is programming anti-gay hit men.

Obviously, any gratuitous or mercenary killer on earth cannot speak for the majority of any sacred text(s) setting forth peaceable human and divine ideals; such killers either care not, or by internal or externally induced dysfunction outside a relevant faith, they cannot stay with our common Creator’s spirit and aspirations for humanity. And, where a Muslim or Jew or Christian or Hindu or otherwise simply isn’t sure if homosexuality is spiritually kosher…without urging or participating in isolation or destruction of gays de facto, especially where any gay party otherwise shares the same metaphysical perspectives of peaceful faith …there can be no “button pushing” no matter the demographics of the spiritual issue doubter.  Not much with which to condemn Israeli Orthodox Jews, here. 

Although I was not born nor have I ever been a gay man, in my own life journeys, many men of every demographic…most observing NO religious activities as adults regardless of upbringing, yet some brought up in generally strict homes of even purely secular influence…have expressed to me varying degrees of awkwardness up to and including hatred of gay men. In every case, such anti-gay voices expressed either that “by simple biology” gays are not real men no matter what ANYONE says, or in equal numbers that they perceive gays are being elevated (by government and government-contoured media) above all others for social participations from which all others are excluded…curiously re the latter, the complaints continue that religion which ACCEPTS gays, appears to exclude most others from clergy and congregational concerns, AND operates in nature as shepherd to State-prescribed collectives only is not a true religion. Clearly, Orthodox Judaism within Israel isn’t an analog to relevant alleged religious or anti-religious violent types outside of Israel or Judaism, as such conjunction of operation appears absent.  

For these reasons, where Orthodox Judaism has not nor has it relevantly previously embraced or exhorted violence against peaceable people Jews unjustifiably simply weren’t sure of (in this case, gays), nor in any way excluded non-Orthodox Jews from fungible humanities and democratic discourse, I cannot conclude or endorse sentiment that abolishing religion in general or Orthodox Judaism in particular, and replacing same with State collectivism and psychological/media apparatus, would lead to improved global gender/demographic tolerance(s), economies, or reductions to Ladenism and Talibanism, or better results in the effort to re-build a jobless, workless Eden in previously predominantly Abrahamic faith and other lands.   

I wanted to express this not just as a minister or USA resident, but as a rational human being…ethics and fairness have no borders or colors or other polemics in my life’s philosophy.

May God guide the steps of Israel, Judaism, and every person upon the earth.

Look at certian email homepages today; all abuzz that Qaeda's number two puke disapproves of Obama's first few months. Oh lordy, is DHS right NOW...criticize Obama or Dems or any official(s) ANYWHERE, and YOU are the radical suspect?

We all know China, Bush, Obama, and many others give bazillions of our and IMF money to Pakistan, the Taliban, and so on, while Qaeda obviosuly gets more guns, swords, cash and credit than any of us. But if one of their henchmen who "can't be caught, just hates Jesus, do as they say!" says HE "doesn't like" Obama, who wouldn't believe the ones Qaeda takes money out the mouths FROM aren't going to be "recruited" by them?

This kind of Qaedamontade is pure garbage, insofar as anyone who might try to get us to think complain about jobs, help the homeless, don't act as Office of Faith-Based Initiatives says, worry about mortgages/credit/schooling/healthcare quality, and DHS will coordinate a Federal down to local pounce on YOU...."radicals".

One hears so much these days about Jesus being a problem, or Mohammed, or Moses, or Buddha, or henotheists, or Deists, and so forth.

Well, while many politicians and retention-seekers thirst for the group dynamics of "we're number one/you are a sinner or pre-destined sack of crabgrass 'cuz you don't sit with us!", in fact, insisting upon that and the quiesence all spirtuality and faith is but research after comfort, substituting that populist "universal religious philosophy" for the complex, contrary longtime one at time of UN 1948 human rights bill (guaranteeing exercise/freedom of faith globally)...one that Bonhoffer, John Paul II, Gandhi, Jews, and most Muslims and others shared toward progressive fellowship with diverse belief systems...doesn't make it "God breathed" without way more explanation.

When assessing a Laden-coddler's hate of Christians, or any exhortation in your faith to hate or mistrust anyone else on earth for their faith/absence of one simple, please remember that the philosphy we might all share toward progress is the concept our faith wishes to communicate, every ceremony and symbol being "just" our roots we acknowledge and adhere to.

It's what we do that matters in eternal progress, not the Cross or Crucifix or Mennorah or Diwali observance or whatever that makes faith without substance mere hot air, a distraction, or just a way of sitting on government pest populations.
