Here in the USA, recently we were presented with an "aw, schucks!" attitude from DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano that even though she wouldn't know if an alleged terrorist on a Christmas flight were Qaedan or how stuff got on a plane etcetera, she's done her best and hey...has anybody been a victim of terrorism on her watch (other than in Mumbai and who knows where else, if one relies solely on Fed-Bailed Hollywood/media, which doesn't even mention the once-vaunted Darfur or Somalia any more)? Come on, people, our uberdamen und ubermenschen are doing the best they can...$290 billion or more no-strings to Laden-coddlers, plus clamping down hard on ANY faith expression not fitting Ladenists WILL produce a super economy and security for every last person on earth. Mustn't blaspheme REAL deity after all, as governments can best discern.

Next, we were informed TIME chose Ben Bernanke as Person of the Year for 2009, with a tagline describing that sure 2009 was a super-weak economy but hey...Benster was THERE, and think of how bad it COULD have been if ubermensch hadn't been en suite stabilizing the out-of-the-blue jolts in 2009 (of course, forget that he was there before Barack Obama took office and obviously has no foresight whatsoever, or is back-patted by bailed-out media as payback). What anti-Ladenist, anti-government schemer could blaspheme against the real deity through claiming even civilly that ethical issues exist between some things that are said and some things that don't exist in reality? To some officials, such diverse blasphemies against government-discerned true faiths weren't enough...in Maryland, one town wants to erect a monument to secular government on precept it is THE infallibility of mankind and its potential philosophies, dreams, skills, talents, education, and so on.

That is the opinion status of assorted USA government at the moment, pretty much a mirror of Pakistani, Irish, and many other governments who feel the ultimate in blasphemy is democratic participation in one's society (although often Courts provide saving grace against the mere hot air of mere officials).

Other opinions besides theirs or mine can be made; here is how I assess the general idea that still tongues make for happy lives, questions are a burden to others, and answers make prisons for one's self, whether asserted in religious or secular cast:

I don't believe in limiting speech which does not denegrate, precede, or cause direct harm to anyone in the measurable physical sense. In terms of faith, at best when one "blasphemes" they're not hurting GOD at all, just their own chances with Him; when one "blasphemes" a human member of any religion in nature only of attempting to "give them social cooties", and no more, again what God will SPIRITUALLY deem is the risk of the speaker, and what God will SPIRITUALLY strengthen against mere words is PART of any faith.

Now, if any Irish officials (or any other nations') want to protect from physical harm or hindrances HOLDING and PRACTICING peaceful religious activities ala UN Resolutions and say the First Amendment of the USA Constitution, fine; but where for example any old government were to ply any old governance (Louis XIV, Stalin, e.g.) and wrap themselves in deterministic quietism against even rotten rulers, one could only glow about Augustine of Hippo or Martin Luther that even rotten leaders are "judgments of God"...the heavy preponderance of assorted global historical faith ontology against such absolute quietism then would be "blasphemy", and in effect establish State religion. Also for example, look at Laden and Pakistan officials "being blasphemed" by Pakistanis or Hindus.

Again, most nations outside the USA have ALWAYS required licensure or regulation of ALL religions; it makes no theologic or secular sense to command people to simply believe or not believe ANYTHING available to human perception or apperception...as Hegel observed, ANY system which does not admit of unbelief is a mere convenience of some human(s). 

Remember how when George W. Bush would catch himself a varmint (besides when Gen. Franks was told to let Laden loose) out of all possible foreign varmints in over 60 countries, then crow about how great his uber-rights crushing deus ex machina was at finding terrorists? Remember how even Kerry and Obama thought Bush and Cheney should get their hands off us and our Constitution for such malarkey ('course, they also worried about Darfur and jobs, mortgages and now-effete stuff like that). 

Well, certainly no media or political talking head is going to jump ahead and imply or state that B-Rock is using the current alleged terrorist nabbing as a cloy for silencing critics or everyday folks at community meals and so forth. No, B-Rock surely will be portrayed as superior to Bush in every way on the war on terror; there will be nothing like under Bush as change has come to the White House.

Thus, note that the Obama administration bent over backwards to accomodate Hamas against Israel, as if Hamas is this beloved leader of Syrians everywhere and vessel of goodwill; note that even after Mumbai attacks with groups akin to but separate from Laden, all however based in the fairly small nation of Pakistan, the Obama administration bent over backwards to place India on a "religious freedom violator" watch list for being "racist" against Hindu racially compatible Pakistan for questioning expression of State Islam through Mumbai attacks; and note that the Obama administration and Congress this Spring gave at least $290 BILLION dollars on specific no-strings basis to Pakistan.

At a Christmas-miracle type coincidence...B-Rock being so low in polls after a NEW, "unread" health bill passed...there is now an alleged (and if true, punishable by all means) ONE WHOLE terrorist B-Rock "got word on ahead". Who other than one "of interest" themselves under suspicion of guilt by parallel whatever can question a sitting President in time of war who is crafting a complex web and at risk for his capturing...well, there I go again, thinking Dubya is still dellivering White House scripts.

Barack Obama, all layers of USA government, and the media they fund welcome transparency and citizen involvement with government. In that spirit, I respectfully note that the current omni-layer governmental appeasements of rather culturally small Islamic extremists seems to produce way too little way too slowly, at some expense to the lives and rights of good Muslims, Christians, atheists, and others all over the globe.

Maybe if one were to encourage opportunities for individuals to engage in their own and international jobs/commerce, and just jail/obliterate true terror groups? That's pretty much how the world used to run pre-monoculture, and even with prosperity carrying more reason(s) for deranged killers and megalomaniacs to hit the USA and other nations, they sure didn't get very far when the world wasn't re-arranged to their liking. 


 

Most religious doctrines from day one forward are protean in nature and thus open to different readings. One idea still common to all is that he Absolute is capable of creating transcendences in living persons; even with “one Absolute for all”, there are clergy even in same faiths and religions who split between urging political submissiveness and quietism, and ratifying that in theory questioning, resisting, or deposing authority can particularly be possible before the Absolute…and such ambivalence results in a very important mental and social brake.

Indeed, when “called, but underexposed” clergy or persons of ordinary and secular cast seek to “raise consciousness” on ethics against religious themes or in opposition to them, the result too often has been the likes of dictators, bin Laden, endless guillotiner Robespierre, Jim Jones, and so on…thus, usually it’s good to preach against populist anarchy, and rarify usurpation of government to the likes of the signers of the USA Declaration Of Independence; largely, they had a case where a king was taxing them but not even providing security or Judges, and they just thought they’d fill vacancies to do what otherwise England had done prior to George III. Also, where human rights given by God and so admitted to through laws, treaties, or resolutions are ignored to “license” say Auschwitz, obviously (ala George III) HUMAN-based reasons exist for resisting or usurping offices to restore normalcy.

But all merely human reasons open themselves up to bartering away or regulation, usually on the ground claimed “conscience” is purely an a posteriori affectation or apperception of the mind borne wholly on one’s unique social perspective, with no connection to choosing between spiritual good and evil on some universally given free will for such purpose. Where this is the case, it’s proper to not supplant existent authority; e.g., some untutored mercenary takes off a helmet, puts on a turban/yarmulke/mitre/robe/Office Of Faith-Funded Initiatives/whatever, simply announces “yep, I’m holy now and master theologian, case closed!”, then goes about playing God for earthly influence…such would seem psychology, and probably criminal psychology at that.

Speaking of the Absolute’s take on relevant human affairs, most faiths appear well-settled that the Absolute favors order (in souls or beings of the high and low, not just in society)and permits us to live with effects of choosing or tolerating unwisely for as long as we alone desire to stay out of the Absolute’s order.

For example, the ancient Chinese “Mandate of Heaven” doctrine made rulers Sons of Heaven, yet the mandate was not granted in perpetuity or unconditionally; Heaven demanded righteousness and good government and deposed rulers who abused office.

In Christianity, deterministic quietism was largely the “brake” created by (St.) Augustine of Hippo and later echoed by Martin Luther: God appoints rulers according to the merits of people, lets just as well as rotten rulers reign, thus none may be resisted. It should be noted that as an Augustinian monk, Luther based his theology largely on the personal muse of Augustine of Hippo, both men in their day highly internationally personally influential in their own affairs and seeing little value in Vatican Councils or similar collegiate contemplations beyond their own opinions.

This quietism in Luther’s day was rebutted by a disciple of Calvin, Theodore Beza, who asked without negative answer why it couldn’t be God’s will that tyrants are admonished by the people instead of the people by tyrants? The Christian humanist John Milton echoed Beza. So well-edified lay religious opined; any theologian to speak?

Between the days of St. Augustine and later Luther, in circa 1110, Hugh of Fleury taught in “De Regia Potestate” that God punishes bad princes with the insubordination of their people; this is also the view in Eastern Christianity, and the Vatican disfavors yet doesn’t completely bar all resistances in the West or world insofar as Roman Catholicism.

Outside original Chinese or Christian-relevant philosophies, even Buddhism and Hinduism join the rest in affording rarified pinholes for non-millenarian resistances.

My compact attempt to edify on this topic is hardly exhaustive in re theological data thereon; it doesn’t appear that spiritually one loses grace or is acting purely from cultural bravado over dissenting ala USA Founding Fathers, nor over using Courts to test limits of government power, nor in simply not doing what one believes is not right. However, grace likely WOULD be lost in ignoring rationally-observed improprieties, or in taking part in anarchistic, narcissistic, aimless, vengeful, or similar lashing out at or holding in sub-human regard ANY person(s)…and by mere parallel coincidence, make a transgressor true fodder for secular justice authorities as well. 

The Almighty is spirit communicating and creating through reason, we are created in the Almighty’s image meaning our souls with some power of reasoning, and we best emulate the Almighty when we don’t abuse, neglect, or set aside challenges presented to us, let body rule soul, or like the cast-out Lucifer believe some of God’s sentient creations are more “worthy” than others to even ever exist or have a chance.

This applies to all life’s happenings, including deciding to lucidly comply or not comply with authority.

An interesting trend has developed, in reviewing "Wenzel Strategies" and related pollster data: almost one out of two persons (regardless of origin, faith status, age, or anything else) feels that they better hold their tongues or they'll face retribution(s) from City Hall, a Governor/Legislature, or the Federal government. It is the same for GOP, Democrats, and Independents at present.

Folks, if they had enough stormtroops to back up their Hollwood/news media bailed-out windbags, they'd just go and use them, don't you think? All they do is scare people into thinking the world will hear they were accused of something (real or not) by officials/henchmen, and then all the social/economic things that happen anyway somehow will be perceived as happening due to "bad karma" going around.

I know it's not always easy, but maybe THIS year resolve to keep a civil but insistent interest in ALL candidates prating"we need to follow our way, not yours, to 'wedge' into office", since they would represent YOU and ought to be speaking in transparent terms; and alongside, don't buy into scandal hype or pay attention to obvious propaganda or rabble-rousing yap, but stand your legal ground and follow through available appeals if need be...it would look pretty idiotic of media or government to prate literally ALL people have cooties and ought to be shunned, now wouldn't it?

That said, a Happy New Year to all, and stop fussing at each other or hanging heads low...you're due more dignity than that, and in the USA especially no official in real or imagined capacity can truly act in nature of say Stalin or Hitler unto you...unless you do it for them (imaginary) or if attempted just stare at the sun (real). Participate not as anyone might program or manipulate you in aimless rant, but in traditional civil if soul-testing inner strength.  

If one is reflecting upon the year and recent times this Holiday season, they may breathe a sigh of relief that once again, Providence has gotten them through yet another huge round of foreclosures, layoffs, closures, and so on.

Per a recent Chinese newspaper account, the Chinese government says it’s not investing in the USA, and that most countries on earth won’t be either…not because of LBGT treatment, health care, global warming, religion, racism, nationalism(s), and the slew of wedge issues, just because global governments have no money and don’t care (http://www.shanghaidaily.com/article/print.asp?id=423054 ).

In the USA, it’s said that unemployment will expand to pay China et al, but the relevant story says not much about China being concerned about or expecting or receiving returns anyway.

In these times, it’s worth remembering that the needy, foreclosed, jobless, and people on any kind of benefits always “know what they’re doing, and are irresponsible”. Something to think about, as all 2010 election and media wedge baloney will take place against he financial picture China just painted.

There’s a philosophy beginning to take root in some global political realms such that many officials are, although never before thought so in their lives or those of their forebears, as or in the nature of new life forms…much as homo habilis (wherever distributed with whatever looks)was superior to cro magnon, homo sapiens (wherever distributed with whatever looks)was superior to homo habilis, it appears that we have a new human species in our midst, one which doesn’t claim to Godhood yet is in every way superior in mind to most people while continuing to otherwise appear the same as others…this new species is homo officialianis.

According to the latest emerging modernist doctrine, this new human creature is part of a global upgrade in evolution; in fact, some, as actor Wil Smith recently noted, receive Nobel Prizes for work done in recognizing their efforts on behalf of their “breed apart” yet noble stewardship of less fortunate creatures; this new breed of human is so new it goes only by the name “flashpoints of human evolution”.

Through tight reigning of monocultural global populations, these “flashpointers”…being of a higher mental evolution than all other talking monkeys…rightly leave in the dust all law, traditions, systems of knowledge, commerce, you name it, where same are rooted in “the best the minds of lesser evolutionary value could contrive”. To them, God (let alone diverse spiritualities in response thereto) is a hoodoo, something the smaller-brained types (including, e.g., Bing Crosby, William F. Buckley Jr., William P. Clark, Thomas Jefferson, Martin Luther King, Gandhi, the Dalai Lama, founders of Yale and Harvard) clung to as a mere device of political differences of opinion, as if to elevate themselves as man-gods over other talking monkeys like Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin, you get the picture; also, religion being but just one sign of “retrograde” intellect, many tiny-brains used to think they could survive Depressions together, and yet individually have dignity, worth, and almost limited capability to invent, dream, and achieve healthy international relationships…in the old days BFE, what COULD all-equal talking monkeys do but presume some God or whatever was over them, they being the highest form of life on earth, and respect each other as best they could?

With the advent of “flashpointers”, from China to the USA to Canada to Latin America and literally everywhere, no more talk of Calvinist ‘separation of wheat and chaff’ or Raptures or Fourth Reichs or re-institutions of royalty; if a “flashpointer” is a new and irrevocable next stepper in human evolution, obviously anyone not regarded by “flashpointers”, their media, or necessary private/public epigone as “evolved” must by such standard be deemed sub-human…see, only new models survived in the ancient past, right? So naturally, global “flashpointers” know best how to make it seem this or that “spiritual superstition”, LBGT community, racial group, Ladenists, or otherwise needs to be warehoused with situational treatments then no better than any other sub-humans receive(and “throwback reproduction” limited), as the mass of now-sub-humans  breathe their last making way for evolutionary progress.

Now, “flashpointers” have no idea where the first-of-first universes came from; goodness, they can’t even produce jobs or balance a budget, and many (not all) were formerly (?) the most party-animal, duty-shirking creampuff punks there ever were (though “egotism” is common to them). To be fair, everyone from Barack Obama to Hu Jintao to Vladimir Putin to Chavez to Lula and so on seems content not to claim THEMSELVES as “flashpoints of human evolution”, at best, if at all, letting such talk OF them fly without direct denials; too, maybe it’s coincidence that only “flashpointers” and those they hold tight reign on or bail out in ever-worsening economies are the only ones who can be aware of themselves, and ala apostolic succession theory pass that on in dubbing (from the vast pool of retrogrades)who should not be called sub-human and allowed to play with the New Breed…unless “distemper” is discovered later and some brutes one day are no longer warm and fuzzy.        

Only those believing in current ongoing human mental-only “flashpoints of evolution” can explain in depth how this separates them from all other life and its history, or why they express no greater knowledge than anyone has done over and over…and without miracles and such to boot. Heavens, no official or admirer thereof on earth has yet figured out how to make one tiny drop of new water…we’re STILL using the same water here for eons, and if “we dummies” could build nukes and go to space, why can’t the new ubermenschen wave greater wands than ours? 

The here foregoing is not a religious reaction nor is of essence political; it is philosophical counterpoint in rebuttal to an existentialist, Ayn Rand/Adolf Hitler form of eugenics propaganda that ANY person or official on earth could embrace or reject.

Myself, I remain happy knowing my own alleged “advanced intellect” is utterly useless…nonquam…if I use it only for myself/epigone, and will earn me bitter judgment of God if I don’t try to use my gifts in building up ALL souls on the globe in positive, civil, traditional human ways…and encouraging our fellowship in such pursuits.

I hope this makes clear what I mean to all people of every stripe when I continue to say and wish from the essence of my soul: “Merry Christmas! Peace And Goodwill To All!”

Josef Goebbels, besides being a dude who sat even 98% of the National Socialist and other parties on their ears, was originally a student of romantic (including mythic) literature; he received a PhD from Berlin University in 1921.

Goebbels said that propaganda does not have to be intelligent, it just has to succeed; he otherwise knew propaganda to be that which facilitates the triumph of personal leaders’ will.

By “not intelligent”, sure, thugs with rubber hoses on posters saying “do it or else” would be propaganda; but most usually, unintelligent propaganda means that stagecraft/cinema/media event which is either grounded in no evidence that should be there (opinions only made), or ignores data which tends to negative what the pomp and circumstance/talking head opinions blurt about.

A rhetorical example: say a State, the SWAs of which are part of a Federal unemployment system, aks its regulated professions to make outrageous enticements to pull in people (formerly with good wages, but now in foreclosure, stamps, etc) on UI extensions with no real experience; next, say regulators know a charade of completing necessary initial licensing/registration forms and ephemera will be included but nobody will have employers submit (contrary to apparent law); then, say as “newbs” such new hires are run ragged or otherwise made to leave the new jobs; next, maybe many such employers don’t pay for training “made pursuant to law” on applications they know they won’t submit, nor pay for first work done; last, say the State’s SWA ends UI for all such people as they”quit”, otherwise refuses to pursue wage claims for them, and regulated agencies back up that mindnumbingly even by the tons no such people “did regulated work” so no ticks to employers; now say as a result UI claim figures go down, and some official(s)prance around saying how messianic they must be just to have a low figure and be thus improving lives, “need we say more?”. This example would be “unintelligent”, as the officials’ claims would be based on an absence and further contradiction of certain facts.

Remember how this Spring Congress “had” to ever-after bailout Hollywood, inter alia, so any amount they claim (especially for movies fitting government political agendas) moviegoers spent will at least LOOK plausible? Unless there’s a reason(s) they were so bankrupt they needed FedCash, which they STILL get despite claim today of “record profit year”.

Then there’s the other “permanently bailed”, broadcast and print media. They’re the ones who disbelieve anyone could be interested in anything they don’t report, or needs to have specifics to back up claims. Such media usually tell us there’s no global monoculture…the USA President du jour is very popular with foreign (e.g., Norwegian European Union types) officials who tell their people they need to emulate the USA economy/rights protocols, while our President tells us we need less rights, central Fed control of all life, less commerce, even more houses, less citizen input (only “spam” questions them, right?), and so on as “appeasement” to foreign officials to keep our officials popular with them…and in letting officials alone reaping “bounty” after “bounty” ourselves like we ALWAYS do “but for racism” and other gender/ethnicity/familial abuse polemic rodomontades. Just ask Dr. Phil how crazy you are to ask questions, think “monoculture”, or wonder why Obama and pals never walk their own nations’ streets to “prove” turnout popularity with what some term mere commoners, sub humanity, and surplusage.

This pretty much leaves us with media which only reports on what makes officials look good, or to inveigh across broad psychological swaths against critics when the masters they’re lap dogs to get peevish, paranoid or irked.

Consider today’s “USA Today” front page story “Mixing Their Religions”. It represents an attack on the Catholic Church on circular logic that because many superstitious and non-Christian spiritualities exist in opposition to or unconcern with Catholicism, Catholicism is both dying and offensive and “should see the writing on the wall” (or at least have its members be thought of as superstitious).

Three attacks on Catholicism (and thus Christianity) are therein made:

1.       Inveigh that longtime Catholics of every stripe are against anybody not spiritual as they are, hoping to keep folks away from Church and invite animosity to Catholics (even Obama’s staff said they’d call Priests gay who oppose them);

2.       Inveigh that people of other spirituality do not give up their beliefs when “pretending” to be converted to Catholicism, so even bin Laden (on Obama-Pakistan cash?) or other folks the already socially phobic fear might be Catholics (another stay-away cloy); and

3.       The entire Roman Catholic Church and the Gospels it’s founded upon are superstitions, so any Christian is a mindless boob puppeteered by the Pope or even Protestant clergy in mere political opposition to all-powerful officials and personal comforts they seek.

In sum, as a cat’s paw to raw power, all “USA Today” did through its story is reflect Communist China’s policy of government installing Catholic clergy/bishops of its own, calling ANY other spirituality other than government’s “superstition” and political, and being upset so many worldwide continue to convert to Vatican theology.

As a Christmas present for the personal comforts of every USA official, USA Today was just helping Obama et al stay immensely popular with foreign leaders emulating each other on what “properly” is and isn’t spirituality…then setting spiritualities against each other, or attempting to de-energize Christians, or both.

This is why, on International Human Rights Day, I laugh at yet pray for USA Today, and wish dignity, peace, fellowship, and the blessings of God to ALL people of goodwill on earth. Other  than that, I remain as much as a "mindless boob" as Roman Catholics such as William F. Buckley, Jr. and Bing Crosby.

This Holiday Season, as if most people had social phobia (http://www.socialphobia.org/whatis.html )and would rather go to a movie than talk to a passerby, work, or go to a house of worship, let’s consider what getting behind Obama’s call for atonement and joining in could mean for global prosperity.

President Obama has this year represented that his critics should just shut up and let things lie and expand as they are; you know, he may be right!

Yes, there are a slew of critics ranging from his own party to secular to religious objectors, but does anybody notice that they’re all running out of money, as those they claim support them (at least in petitioning or opinion polling style) also run out of cash, credit, and aid? Most importantly, does anyone notice that most people just want whatever degree of consumerism is meted to them until it’s “their time”, without thought of or to anyone else and without real expectation the New Culture will change or fail to touch them? So it goes in Illinois, Tennessee, Oregon, Idaho, name it.  

It’s as if most USA folks of every origin collectively say: “Yep, it’s global totalism now, what from money to anything else is out there FOR us to do besides peck at each other, watch sports, and go to movies until it’s our turn to go? They’ve taken global rights, personal economic control, creative aspirations, property upon which to build or retain houses of worship (indicating a non-existent, dead or weakling Creator) and need for ambition or even exercise away from most of us…even foreign dictators have always needed someone to dictate TO, let’s stick with the statism, the sports/celebrity/talk radio fan as the only group dynamics left to us, and maybe they’ll take more people ahead instead of us…yeah, it’s crummy to be a kept State hamster if a pollster asks but really, do most of us even seem capable of taking time away from our sports, movies and managed consumerism except for ‘tea bag moments’ and election year blogging?”.

If that or something close to it IS the reality of the majority population, then President Barack Hussein Obama is absolutely correct that most people don’t WANT to be educated, work, create businesses, get married or care who is, otherwise be equity parts of society, or have liberties protected…in such case, don’t blame atheists, Hu Jintao, Osama bin Laden, Democrats, Republicans, Putin, Satan, God, whoever; in a democratic Republic, where the majority of people do not care what needs to be done even to them or their children to permanently simply exist (and no more), and have a pattern of being self-absorbed armchair quarterbacks letting everyone else fix everything even back in “better times”, then even if critics of the government make scholastically lucid, legally sound, and generally accurate gainsays or constructive alternative plans these are NOT things the majority public wants…and though it’s extreme to label critics generally as DHS report fodder, still, critics need to see Obama IS giving the mass population what it wants as it manifestly partakes of handouts with minimal grousing, sort of the way one feeds a cat and might get hissed anyway yet the cat submissively returns for more.

Indeed, it appears Obama critics need to face the reality that they ARE “revolutionary” in nature, where they transcend ministering to shrinking numbers at all interested in hearing about peaceful alternative life philosophies or religious living; Obama critics need to accept that most people today would rather re-arrange their aimless day to see the OSU Ducks vs. U of O Beavers “civil war” football game than help or even talk to a stranger, or than picket the State capitol for jobs 24/7/365 (in a State with massive unemployment, more coming). Now THAT’s putting the body where the soul truly is, all such gamesters’ faint mewing notwithstanding as they freely act in the nature of trotting next to their keepers hoping for more scraps…Trent Lott’s book title was too limited, as it seems “Herding Cats” is not just for the Senate Leadership anymore.

Wherefore, the spirit of Jesus through Gandhi through Dr. King is manifestly kaput in today’s USA, and thus it might be nice if PACs and Churches/Similar limit talking to their own choirs…we must stop the “concept revolution” against ideologies the manifest USA population wishes to tolerate. To keep face with the Hegelian notion that ANY system (including secular) which does not admit of unbelief is a mere convenience, I would respectfully submit that hermeneutic peaceful religions and ministers respecting the USA State as giving the majority population what it wants (including LBGT marriage, less labor, CCA and other imprisonment for distempers, military escalations, aid to Ladenist nations, abortion, and actual or perceived moral relativity) should not be included as being “false religious” or barred from assembly/expression due to their own opposite views, and that their admittedly minority actual adherents be able to object and withhold their service(s) on conscience grounds where enough secular or other parties in simpatico with the majority are easily available.

Folks, those of us who want to resist intellectual or ethically rhetorical “evil” today can do it but one way, if you’ll take a sober look at reality: if you see it, don’t do it yourselves; if you give money to a PAC or Church, expect it will sustain the choir alone at best; if you’re going to “make” an unbeliever(s) hear you, no matter how “compelling”, even Thomas Aquinas would tell you harming unbelievers is against the will of Jesus and God (“Summa Theologica”, Volume Two, Part Two, Question 10, Articles 1 through 12) unless they force themselves upon you in your physical person (actual personal attack, only force enough to stop it kosher)…and secularly, even I would detain the true armed, egocentric and dangerous.

After all, in this economy at a time of sluggish Christmas sales and rising domestic abuse, who packs in more of those attendees and viewers: Lou Dobbs, the RNC/DNC, some union, any nature of any faith’s Church/Mosque/Temple/House of Worship, or Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon for the OSU v. U of O “civil war” game? (Hint: Statewide here today, ala those 1936 Mercedes touring cars back in Germany’s Dolf Days, all you see are fender flags for either the Oregon State or University of Oregon football teams.) Fans, if you feel a bit the same the next morning, please don’t vent on others or officials; and again, even I would detain the socially lazy, egocentric and dangerous.

Within most major faiths, capital punishment has been not uncommonly tolerated if sometimes applied capriciously and unpredictably.

In the historical Hindu Code of Manu (a god of black hue and red eyes), capital punishment was frequently applied per type of offense, even trifles, and could be: impalement on a stake, trampling by an elephant, burning, roasting, being cut to pieces, being devoured by dogs, or undergoing mutilations.

Old Hebrew law afforded death by stoning but in many instances also slaying with sword, spear, or dagger per mere expediency or choice of the executioner. The thought here was although Genesis said God expelled a killer, but would be sevenfold harsher to one taking vengeance against a killer, as long as it wasn’t vigilantism outside official venues capital punishment could be kosher.

In traditional Muhammadan canon (such as Laden-slacking Pakistan's State-run Islam dictates), one could lose body parts for an array of offenses, but even where fathers killed their sons, about the only capital punishment would be for apostasy from Islam (including Pakistani government policy) or to leave your own other faith for anything but Islam; also, though against Allah to kill innocent non-believers, such canon says not the slightest vengeance can be had unless another Muslim had promised protection of an unbeliever’s life.

Martin Luther in “Plass”, and even Pope John Paul II in encyclicals, stressed up to lethal force if needed could be used where one is attacked through no fault of their own (Luther excluded resistance only if in a Church; Catechism of the Catholic Church articles 2265, 2266 approve State use of armed forces and death penalty on stipulation); these leaders reasoned that without respect for one’s own humble human dignity re self-defending, one cannot respect dignity of others.

I myself feel it wouldn’t be for the interests of humanity that well-conducted and useful members of the community or world should be more exposed to deprivation of life by murder in order that the lives of murderers may be spared. But there should be dignity even for defendants taken into any nation’s or State’s custody.

Whereas common law (or “natural law” or “religious canon”) seems excellent for achieving the chancery purposes in commercial and civil law, universal criminal codes requiring charge limit (AND charging no matter “who offered who protection”)to overtly excessive physical action(s) against the body(ies) of another(s), affording real representation to defendants, providing humane execution, and according a well-formed appeals process seem best for avoiding excessive or egregious use of lex talionis and for exercising what universally is conceived as human rights of detainees in cases of capital punishment…without derogation to the essence of any peaceful faith or peaceful philosophy of unbelief.
