From "The Audacity of Hope", Barack Obama, Crown Publishing Group, ISBN 13: 978-0-307-23769-9, 2008, p. 256: "We should also acknowledge that conservatives- and Bill Clinton - were right about welfare as it was previously structured: By detaching income from work, and by making no demands on welfare recipients other than a tolerance for intrusive bureaucracy...the old AFDC program sapped people of their initiative and eroded their self-respect" (sic in originalis).
Looking at the April 2009 DHS reports recommending monitoring all people until at least 2019 due to likely displeasure with government in said period (only Obama/DHS can explain prescience), a Restoring Financial Stability Act giving government sole power to determine creditworthiness despite traditional logic and to acquire anyone's financial/purchasing data "for any purpose", nationalized health care/autos/media/banks et al and a religious array which can't make it without Federal faith oversight, a Kagan Supreme Court nominee who thinks government has a right to hush up critics of even obviously useless ideas because a goof or two might lash out or feel slighted (
"If there is an 'overabundance' of an idea in the absence of direct governmental action - which there well might be when compared with some ideal state of public debate - then action disfavoring that idea might 'un-skew', rather than skew, public discourse.",

With gold over $1,200 USD/ounce and myriad institutionalized food handouts to boot, how is Obama or anyone else in government at any level(s) not simply expanding the old AFDC routine to infinity and everyone not part of "official's and orthodoxy's circles"?
