In our times, it seems that two propositions greet absolutely all people as they each plot a course for interacting in all ways and things in regard to all others...especially where one's self-interests are concerned.

 

The first is to evolve personal theories from autonomous facts; the second is to create fact situations to support personal theories.

 

Which, if eithe, mindset seems most popular today? If the latter, I'd be confounded to see how abandoning it for the former would oppress anyone on grounds doing so would create "ideological straitjackets" or "unfair universal moral standards".

 

Even without religion, the terms "evolution" and "creation" could still have social applications...and Richard Rorty et al said you couldn't be "fair" even if you just weighed what anyone told you for any purpose against what they did/didn't then do or their results complete within one single proposition at a time; maybe more than one reason such "progressive" philosophers are synthetic a priori as well as addicted to saying "I am aware of no one or nothing which could nullify or enhance my tautology".
