Obama Administration Slacking Due To Pro-Bush/Cheney Actual Hearts?

I am commenting today in re recent opinion by Obama Solicitor General Elena Kagan that she approves and urges continuation of Bush torture and detention of anybody at all, evidence or not, trial or not, actual combatant or not, all things Bush against USA citizens on say-so, and indefinite detention if all a detainer says is "national security"...maybe she goes to one of those Rapturist Churches, and is just one of the amorphous global mass of pro-Rapturist/Jihadists toward fewer people in God's holy name.

I'm sure no Democrats or many sane people actually just wanted the little people (non-crowned heads or soldiers/office workers/police thereof) to feel good about things November 2008 to date, then slam everyone with the same "screw the lot of you!" they thought would change; surely, Obama is more than a glib pacifier pending reinforcement to the old way once enough suckers find out.

If the United States wants to be a beacon of justice and the rule of law abroad the U.S. needs to practice it at home.

Numerous interrogators, generals, and admirals have stated that abuses committed during interrogations are not only illegal, but also counter-productive and hurt our government's ability to collect accurate and timely intelligence.

Senate hearings have found that abuse at Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib was not the work of a few rogue actors but the direct result of policies and practices sanctioned by the highest levels of the US government.

I myself don't care what a military does with bona fide military combatants as long as military purpose can be demonstrated, but again, we don't want to just look busy leaving alone killers like the Binster and his haven-giving puke foreign government, then squealing with glee as we pepper watch lists with everyday global mortgage losers and job losers for "indefinite redention or detention", or something egregiously expedient like that, do we?

I posted this as a reminder to even Bob Barr-type Conservatives and ACLU members that just because Obama is assuring us as the "lawyer" for his "clients" (staff, Cabinet, officials, States, Cities) we need not fear abuse any more, we all know the best of intentions of one's "counsel" often don't mean the "clients" can do without oversight; if you're a Conservative previously concerned over Constitutionalism, this is one of those rare times the haggard phrase "stay the course" actually is apropos.
