While Fun To Scare Selves, Last Fall's Bailout Intent Depends On Unitary Power's Discernment.

It sure is scary and doubt-inducing to hear so many right-wing and especially neocons (those who say executive pay should be ever-upward, and ever-unchecked) crow how the sky is now falling under "the Obama and Democrat timulus plan, which costs more than the mere $86 billion Bush thought he got back in September 2008...that's why nothing improved right away, and all those jobs are first now being lost in reaction to fear of Democrats and Obama...and Bush and the GOP just had this plan on how $86 billion could save everyone at home and abroad, all further linchpinned to GITMO and all its warts".

Well, Bush got about $1 trillion in Wall Street bailout bucks last Fall, and set his policies exactly where he wanted them immediately; further, in December 2008 he used unitary power to give a further $25 billion to the auto industry...of course, all the warts in the world about GITMO and needing to suspect EVERYONE of terrorism were just small prices to pay for the way big changes from an economy going light speed into catastrophe would come in just six short months.

Six months later, we find a new President, and find that in the absence of a consent simple that his unitary power be used to effect all things more in line with expectations of the everyday USA population in its diversities, the same old rapid economic decline, demands to leave Bush terror war tactics alone, demands to use public money for religions to effectuate discrimation in social services given them otherwise prohibited by law,  and cries that 2002's Sarbanes-Oxley are all we need to keep corporate abuses down...this is all we get.

In sum, in September 2008 Congress gave President Bush authority to use his unitary powers over all USA money to effectuate a change from what had been to something better; while not manifestly changing the sum given to Bush, Congress is merely attempting to authorize President Obama to do no more than expected Bush to have at least initiated.

When gainsayers to Obama say they have plans on the cheap which will fix all, those are the same plans they insisted Bush use and up to the November 2008 election insisted they were most proud of in the Bush Presidency, expressing hope a McCain Presidency would extend them...have they worked, and if not, why should Obama not be given a chance to see if he can better articulate Congressional Fall 2008 legislative intentions into reality?

Really, all the auto-gainsaying media and neocons and related officials are doing is trying to convince the remaining public they never would have been in tight times themselves but for Obama, and that everyone who succumbed to the economy before them are anecdotal pockets of life's natural foul-ups who need more discipline than any other mercy whatsoever; in short, today's Obama critics simply don't want a sweet thing for an ever-rarifying few to end, and if they can just beat this Fairness Doctrine thingy too, they'll "one side" their way into our minds along lines in nature which would have us believe even chicken soup can sit up and recite Plato...for some, it appears appears doubt and fear are all tehy care to offer us in hopes of our "betterment".

I say, wait until six months to a year of an Obama Presidency have produced noticeable change, and if not, THEN you've got specifics from which to complain, or mediocre progress...but at least progress...which you can then design to show how you'd improve.
