Without even considering the necessity or correctness of any religion on earth, past or present, certain things stand out about God.
First, not to belabor a point, but the first of all planets before all Big Bangs cannot have created its own matter out of nothingness; there is no known way for matter to self-generate, and then an eternal dark void itself would pose problems under all known earthly scientific disciplines. Obviously, the first of firsts had to be created, and obviously by an Absolute not limited by what we know to be humanly produceable scientific, interdisciplinary, and philosophical means of quantifying, rationalizing, and explaining...no laws of physics, time, space, mentally calculating, and so forth would limit such a Creator.
Second, the nature we come made with, day one at birth, is to seek the good, to seek kinship, to seek fellowship or friendship, to seek doing the right things, to seek knowledge to such ends. At birth, obviously the Creator's intention for humanity is NOT to have it set itself against itself in any way, shape, or form. Further, many scientific studies have verified, blind and double-blind tests, that we humans have the gift of prayer to help one another with actual results; the only requisites seems to be sincerity and GOOD purpose(s) benefitting the object(s) of prayer over self...this or that peaceful religious participation seems to empower such prayer even more; it appears prayer does NOT come with the propensity to kill or harm anyone ( I myself, given the attacks I've endured for upholding law, or free-speaking politically, would not be here if all thugs had to do was pray me to death, and believe me...there ARE some who must have tried)...suggesting the Absolute intends humans use their gifts, talents, and energy in assorted levels of cultural, gender, and global diversity and without imposition of one will over another for the sake of it; as to prayer and efficacy, it seems only human interference or God's plan/expiration date impede prayerful effects.
Last, some are of status such that they can inculcate or enforce appearances of literally any "reality" most suitable to them and their chosen heirs and assigns; others say they are "little" people so what else can they do besides this or that self-serving objectivist thing(s) "everybody else is doing", things of such nature. Well, let's say somebody reasons that say Rene Descartes (humanist philosopher)or Jean-Paul Sartre ( oops, sorry! Sartre, French Socialist existentialist and atheist, actually spent the last months of his life extollling existance of God) and so on are right: there is no demonstrable God, so if you meet one, you get a human legal and PSYOPS team together and use human terms to "rationalize" why, to not be embarrassed as an "imperfect lover of Man" under earthly reasoning, the Creator MUST let you into Heaven; or you're someone who says theirs was a way of rolling with punches, or of poverty, so surely God won't hold objectivism or theft or whatever against little fry who had no choice. The problem with all this is that again, the Absolute is not at all bound by ANYTHING you or the sharpest human tacks can design...if you say "I buried knowledge of you, farmed society, you have to let me in", or "I had no idea...", or "poverty absolves sin", et al, what if the Creator, when it's our time, tells us: "What did I give you at birth, how did you not realize it's proper to do right things according to your gifts and talents, even as atheists or agnostics...ptooey to you!"?
For these reasons, I cannot estimate how any peaceful religion on the face of the earth, which contains itself to the essentials our Creator gives us, can be practicing psychology, licensed or not; it would seem it's just explanation of how this or that group worships and follows the salient order of God...Who doesn't "get lost!" because every last tongue in His witness is stilled, every writing burned, or we just don't talk about that stuff any more.
