This morning, in Zion Illinois, I turned to Comcast cable station 96, where EWTN has always been; today, nothing but fuzz; all other channels fine; I checked the Comcast scrolling menu on channel 99, and found that as of today EWTN appears nowhere within said menu; no prior notice(s), no removal to premium or otherwise; just channel 96 no longer listed in the Lake County Illinois Comcast cable system.

 

Now, last August, a group of young white men would drive around on weekends in the Lewis/Grand area of Waukegan IL in a dark green SUV with black windows; on the "African-American" side of then area, they'd stick out a pole with a huge Mexican flag on it and blow horns while racing at people; on the "Hispanic" side, they'd stick out a huge USA flag on a pole and ditto the honking and taunts.

 

Curiously, the same thugs were the ones earlier this Spring yelling "(expletive) Catholic!" at me from a car after apparent confederates engaged in passive protests within my parish; last week Friday, same passive protestors; this Tuesday, same white yahoo (I'm Caucasian, you know) a block or so north of Grand on east side of Lewis in Waukegan, circa 5PM, as I'm walking North, is a passenger in another SUV and whips a full 44 oz cup into my back while yelling "mother(expletive) Catholic!" as the SUV sped off...you'd think such beefcake would have the decency to step out and introduce themselves, but realizing I'm not the typical person for myself (Savate certified, protective service experience, et al) say only little girls throw drinks and scurry off...I forgive the guys, though, for not having the grace, courage, or self-respect to turn from dark voices...it's for God to say, not me. By the way, like in Zion IL, Waukegan police chuckle when that happens, IF they don't drive off from complaints.

 

And some should pay attention to those stories implying that police will be prosecuted if they even wound killers, so it's okay to harm at-large; any goomba even private who can convince a weak mind "nothing will happen if you do the do against a Churchgoer or whoever, trust me!", ala the old "mob" creates a loon who even the "don" didn't hear of before, except that he thinks they were inspired by a rival family.  

 

It seems hard to believe EWTN going off Comcast 96 is coincidental in timing to the DNC Convention and the latest rudeness here. But off it is; I hope the lame excuse "to keep people SAFE!" won't be used for this sudden quashing of expression of Christian faith enjoyed by many religions and some atheists, even; some say "no physical commercial space keeps us safe from occasional loon attacks, no farming or construction except by orthodoxies keeps us safe from industrial mishaps", but saying "squelching public expression of political differences and of religion will keep us safe from occasional loons who are naughty to Churchgoers"? What next? "Um, so many people just huddled in living rooms...the first loon pops, sterilize the earth of non-politically orthodox annointees just to keep the fewer and rarified good ones safe from the likely loony masses"?
