As an Google search for term "panhandling fill the boot" shows, towns all over the USA are banning FIREMEN from collecting money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association; I know too that many Churches are banned from candy sales and such, as are women's shelters and community meals serving even the elderly. One knows foodbanks run short, oftentimes.

 

Wherefore, until Congress returns next month, I am immediately out there to do what I can for the truly needy, in my capacity as a Christian-based minister, personally and via http://www.fundable.com/groupactions/groupaction.2008-08-18.5814519074 .

 

Whether or not you're interested in my own effort, please consider locating your own local shelters, Churches, nursing homes, MDA, and St. Jude's and so forth, and getting involved where the limelight often doesn't shine but God notices good works.
