When Democrat President John F. Kennedy took us into Vietnam to protect Asian rights, and later Democrat President Lyndon Baines Johnson escalated that war, a wholly Democrat Congress...epitomized by Democrat Senate Majority Leader Fulbright...DAILY whined and moaned about what "bad, evil, rotten, scum of the earth" America was doing to poor little Vietnam, as if MAKING Chairman Mao "have" to destroy our troops together with the South Vietnamese as South Vietnam, like anything else near Russia or China, is just "manifest destiny" of those big nations, ipso facto, de facto.
That kind of thinking now carries over to Democrats re Iran...see, Iraq et al are Iran and militant strand Islam's "manifest destiny"...that's why, ya see, even everyday Muslims will have to accept that when killer jihadists are treated like diplomatically immune invitees in the USA (q.v. Los Angeles Mayoral program to do just that December 2007; inter alia); just like the European Union's "Socialist Group In The European Union Parliament" (PSE) reminds us in demanding all Europe continue with said Parliament's Article 13...the one that invokes "special powers" to step on nationals AND peaceful immigrants in Europe to make way for jihadists.
Anyway, somehow today's Democrats tell us NIXON got us into Vietnam, and that under pressure from Congress he was forced to withdraw...I agree, Democrats ARE the "heroes of myth and legend", all right.
Now, Al Gore, Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL), and so many others from 1992 to 2001 kept a mantra that NON-AL-QAEDA terrorism was known by them to be aided and funded by Saddam Hussein, and that he should be removed by military action of the USA, U.N., or both; Bush intended to go BEFORE 911, and "rushed" when all we needed was at least TWO KINDS of terrorism separately or together lashing out at the globe from the Mid East; Democrats were ecstatic to sign the 2002 AUMF against Hussein, and to this day have never once attempted to CANCEL it....the ultimate "impeachment".
But Congressman Kucinich (D-OH) today via e-PSA reiterates all the House should do this Fall is IMPEACH BUSH FOR GOING TO IRAQ based on saying "ditto all the 1990's Democrat warnings, and post-911, what if....since Hussein won't cooperate with the U.N.'s own inspector, Hans Blix, re WMD?". No, Kucinich to date won't move to cancel the Iraq AUMF, no, he won't say Gore and Durbin et al lied about non-WMD Hussein threats sufficient to warrant USA military action, no, Kucinich won't say he doesn't want to clone the European Union Parliament so USA nationals can "atone" to jihadists and others "previously harmed by Nixon inter alia".
I respectfully submit that Congressman Kucinich and any other officials of any nature can express whatever they think is representative of their own district voters' wishes, but doing so should not involve sacrifice of explaining how all such bureaucratic excellence will take all USA nationals and immigrants together and elevate them in the status quo; as it is, some vote to make cigarettes "drugs" to ptotect children, then vote to fund NEA insistancies even third graders EXPERIMENT right now with homosexuality...many States are voting to lower their evidence standards on everyday cases, yet Congress withholds zero law enforcement funds if used only for autocracy...many officials say religion should be treated as psychology and non-Divine, so it can be regulated...and my favorite, we must not drill our reserves, we must have a gas tax increase to artificially inflate prices and must ala LOST give our oil to U.N. shady types, so that like oil-rich Norway we might give away our resource, then buy it back at pumps at $9.65 USD a gallon or more.
Three tiny examples of Congressional "confusion", I know, but I think sufficient to demonstrate why in this case I applaud Senator DeMint's efforts to not leave "rough edges" out of the political arena so that voters can question further and arrive at better-informed voting conclusions...without regard to candidacies at large. I'm sure at least a number of all officeholders actually know their Constitutional (Federal and each State's) jobs are to banter between things good for the manifest population with same's will therein served, not just throw darts at each other and each other's potential voters for a crown and scepter, further as if winning fuedal lords get to treat nationals and immigrants as serfs for personal entertainment or as regal whim fancies.
