Re my adventures this year at my local Catholic Church, turns out now some there say no, no, I misunderstood...nobody said I "hacked" a Parish Council or otherwise "improperly" obtained private email or impersonated same by my own creation(s), see, what REALLY happened was the lady meant to indicate that after two weeks notice in the bulletin, I was THE only one interested at all in the topic "how does working for social justice increase our faith?"; funny, most folks there don't look like the well to do set, or "investor" class, or over-employed, nor through every race represented in attendance do they appear racist(s) or nationalist(s). Still though, at least somebody then was telling me I would be a party of one in their congregation, not fitting in generally, for reason(s) unknown to me...at least in parish leadership opinion.
But when nations, including Latin dictatorships, use religions to conduct welfare and foreign aid programs regardless of a religion's opinion, or worse when a mere State or Town or political person or profiteer or admixture thereof does for self-interest, there are probably a lot of paranoias and scene-settings and non-religious orthodoxies...in that sense, I observe that Illinois Democrats are among those long favoring aid to religions that, within Illinois, distribute that money to immigrants and Latin dictator or dictator-like nations, and find most modern Churches don't find many in need of things themselves...so Rahm Emanuel, Richard Durbin, and such are right to eye HR 1955 and suspect folks for Church non-attendance simple, as aren't all terrorists poor and isn't poverty the only type of social interest or justice? Maybe some think States and Towns need gerrymandered powers to further tweak the HR 1955 power a little if GOING to Church and NOT being well-off simple are "critical" in a smaller locality...I mean, some might support a faith having the Bishop of the USA Armed Forces and thus be supporters of Iraq war just by Church attendance, some might bite the same faith's pro-life agenda and thus ala abortion clinic bombers so then be suspect for mere attendance...the list goes on and on, limited only by the needs of political expediency or devotion to service thereof.
Personally, I think George Walker Bush continues to have better ideas of what the war on terror is and what social issues and justice are as topics; in further support thereof, I leave the balance of within email to text prepared by the Center For Individual Freedom in nature of fax action to officials in opposition to HR 5351; having read, understood, and agreed with said CFIC text, I respectfully submit my endorsement thereof, said text being, to-wit:
"I was distressed to learn that the Nancy Pelosi–controlled House has just voted to jack up gasoline prices by imposing an $18 billion dollar tax. But that's not the most outrageous part of this malicious legislation. After voting to impose this $18 billion dollar tax, Pelosi and liberals in Congress decided that Hugo Chavez's Citgo was deserving of a huge tax break.
If Pelosi and company thought Chavez was a benign figure when they passed this legislation, they could hardly maintain that illusion after Monday's news. The events and words speak for themselves. On Saturday, Colombian military forces pursued the rebel's second in command, Raul Reyes, into Ecuador and killed him and at least 16 of his men -- the biggest defeat for the rebels in over 40 years. Chavez threatened war in South America, calling the Colombians pawns of the United States. But that's not all because reports have surfaced that the Columbians had captured documents revealing that Ecuador and Venezuela had been conspiring with the rebels and that Hugo Chavez had given them $300 million!
Question: Where would the dictator of a starving country get that kind money? Answer: From oil revenues. Now take a second look at the tax break Pelosi and company want to give this enemy of America, who has called President Bush "the devil."
Do whatever it takes to block passage of the treacherous House bill, which will raise gas prices, ensure inflation, and stuff dollars into the greasy pockets of a mad dictator." [End of CFIC Text]
