Speaking Of No Blank Checks Re The Mid-East....

My wife and I were musing over how all last year, the Democrats told us Iraq was an in-house civil war simple, and that they were going to use our troops wholly against Qaeda instead of Iraq, there being no risk of compromise to world oil or Mid-east civilian populations from extremist or dictatorial regional power-playing. And Mymood Alibabjihad represents..........?

Then, we saw today my wife's employer, a major Chicago-based jeweler and donor to the "politics of hope" crowd in Illinois and beyond, deducted a percentage of this month's commissions on every employee company-wide, on ruse that it must a snafu or perhaps all employees want to lose their jobs for faking slips/exhibiting company customer data to outsiders to support sales...anyway, Happy Thanksgiving. In our case, we just laughed, as we participate in a litany of those member card programs with retailers, and have enough points to get through the whole season; can't say how others feel about occasional pay slam in every quarter some Dem online says "you did it! We met our cash goal!" including with the employer's name as donor in period. I'm a fifth-generation Chicagoan, so we're well-used to taking such piracy in stride.

Anyway, my wife and I then returned to our original conversation, extending it to the recent TV ads for this or that Iraq veteran running for Congress as a Democrat for nomination; every one can be summed up as: "Hi! I'm Joe or Jane Iraq veteran, and I have the following diverse voices behind me: the DNC; Daley; Durbin; Wes Clark (Member or founder of Clinton Center For American Progress, WesPAC, StopIranWar.com, and VoteVets.org); PFAW; MoveOn; and unrelated groups like StopIranWar.com, Center For American Progress, WesPAC, and VoteVets.org...and even Democrat Senator Webb's Born Fighting PAC. There's nothing political about my running. My whole plan is to get troops out of Iraq or the whole world. Ya know, Bush is damned if doesn't use diplomacy, damned if he doesn't, damned if tries infinite combinations when WE ask for it. Vote for ME, diverse unrelated veterans swoon for me, and I'm proud to join veterans like John Kerry in boosting L.A.'s Democrat Mayor in giving homes and social benefits to Islamic jihadists while criminalizing Muslims who ask why, and in boosting no borders and ID for all illegals without background checks so that they can be the next to be left high and dry re the subprime and predatory credit scenario...my party and my vets care about America and people of foreign birth, and will keep pushing LOST to offer any nation who'll fund our work all USA property and resources in lieu of payback...and since the amount of pork they've stuck into every little guy bill giving you yourself crumbs at best nearly totals Iraq cash alone, hey, either we give up the ghost or tax the bejeezes out of you. If you were me, wouldn't YOU rather have a cushy job that requires you to do nothing?".

Well, that's how WE hear it, anyway.

This brings me to a massive salient being overlooked in all this "outta Iraq NOW!" fast shuffling: Democrats promised us that troops would be startegically re-deployed to more effectively pursue al-Qaeda and related threats to the USA; therefore, I respectfully point out that the nature of any such re-deployment is sorely missing from Democrat hand-wringing; as a USA national, I would like to know what their promised plan is, or is it at least foreign-directed, domestically-directed, or both, and in any case, what do they think it will cost? We mustn't have blank checks, remember?

Otherwise, through failure to state, they admit no better or more necessary job than Bush is undertaking COULD be done. But whether they admit it or not, I find I still support George W. Bush re the Mid-East.
